Art Teachers will LOVE this online Workshop

Art Teachers will LOVE this online Workshop

I’m BESIDE MYSELF excited to be part of Patty Palmer’s team for her ‘Draw Paint Make’ Workshop in July! That’s me, bottom left 🙂

For years I have been referring teachers to Patty’s blog, “Deep Space Sparkle”.

She has SO MANY fabulous art projects available, and when her membership program opened up, and we started taking kids classes in my studio, I became a ‘Sparkler’.

Here’s the rest of the story:

Earlier this year Patty shared (in an Insta story) that she was preparing an Australian art lesson plan and I sent her a message of encouragement… she responded… went and looked at my insta account… we talked… she emailed and asked if I’d like to be a tutor for the workshop… I fell over and had to get myself up again… I SAID YES!… I put together my ideas… she interviewed me for her podcast “Art Made Easy” (and it goes live next week I think!)… and I’m on track to delivering my part of the workshop (I’m all about using Acrylics!).

I’ve actually got a full show and tell and THREE projects to share in my part of the workshop and it’s SO HARD not to give too many clues just yet. But I’m really happy with them, and will be online for 30 minutes of Q&A after my session on the day.

The lineup is terrific, Patty’s Deep Space Sparkle credibility is SUPER HIGH and I’m sure it’s going to be a fabulous online event for anyone who teaches art to kids. PLUS you get a full year of access to the content, so you can go at your own pace.

So, as a tutor, I have a personal referral link –

I’d love to see you (well, sort of… you know what I mean!) there!

Watercolour Wonder Workshop

Watercolour Wonder Workshop

Last Sunday we welcomed 20 lovely painters to the new studio to enjoy a Watercolour Wonders Workshop.

Covering the basics of both colour theory and watercolour, my mother, Diana Battle, and I, prepared a suite of exercises and examples that were designed to ‘learn by doing’.

It was our first workshop together and I really enjoyed spending the day sharing Mum with everyone! She’s a very talented painter and it was great to hear her explain some of her methods out loud – and to witness her ‘changing her mind’ as she paints!

Everyone took home a new set of watercolours, brushes and paper so I hope they are well used in the weeks and months to come.

Wishing you a Shiny Happy 2016!

Wishing you a Shiny Happy 2016!

After quite a late NYE with over 18 (mainly teenagers) staying the night, Annie and I escaped to make a little collaborative painting to ring in the New Year.

And we really do wish you a shiny happy year!

Mojo Memories

Mojo Memories

The ever delightful Tracy Verdugo came to town last weekend and left her mark on all the lucky participants in her Paint Mojo workshop, held in my Shiny Happy Art studio.

On Day One we connected with symbols, shapes, colours and ink alchemy and let go.

On Day Two we pulled it all together, learned to let go and marvelled at all the differences in artworks created in the one space full of very lovely women.

If you’d like to experience Tracy’s Paint Mojo magic, she has an eCourse coming up, a Paint Mojo book available now and offers workshops all over the world. It was a wonderful way to spend the weekend.

Paint Mojo hits Toowoomba

Paint Mojo hits Toowoomba

Tracy Verdugo is coming to teach her Paint Mojo Workshop in my Shiny Happy Art studio here in Toowoomba! (I’m seriously excited and it’s hard not to put ten exclamation marks at the end of that sentence!).

I flew to Melbourne in August 2012 to do this workshop and it was just brilliant. I hope you can come too.

Email Tracy directly to book on .

Oh my. It’s gonna be GREAT!
